Korea Digital Education Association Re-elects Chairman Lee Hyung-se, Contributing to K-Edtech Development
Lee Hyung-se, chairman of Tekville Education, has been re-elected as the 11th chairman of the Korea Digital Education Association and will serve another two-year term. Chairman Lee expressed his ambition for the association to lead in promoting EdTech and establishing digital education.
The Korea Digital Education Association held its regular general meeting at COEX, Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 13th, where Chairman Lee was reappointed.
Since changing its name in 2022, the Korea Digital Education Association has actively promoted the EdTech industry through the creation and revitalization of the EdTech ecosystem, alongside various other initiatives such as fostering digital talent. The association has operated the EdTech Industry Promotion Task Force (TF), published a report on establishing policies to promote the EdTech industry, and organized policy meetings with the National Assembly.
Additionally, the association has undertaken various projects, including the establishment and registration of an EdTech category in the school procurement market, the release of AI courseware service listings, the hosting of meetings on AI digital textbooks, and participation in a one-stop export support group to facilitate the overseas expansion of Korean EdTech.
At the reappointment ceremony, Chairman Lee
presented a vision for the association over the next two years, outlining plans
to strengthen corporate competitiveness in the EdTech sector, discover new
business opportunities, expand member company participation, and implement
policies to foster mutual growth among members.
Specific initiatives include:
● Expanding participation
in projects led by the Ministry of Education and related organizations, such as
AI digital textbooks and Soft Labs, to build the EdTech ecosystem
● Enhancing expertise in
digital education capabilities
● Operating an advisory
committee to explore policies for promoting the EdTech industry
● Boosting overseas
expansion by establishing a K-EdTech model and exploring opportunities for
digital education Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects.
The association also plans to strengthen its role in linking the EdTech industry with key organizations such as the Ministry of Education, provincial education offices, and the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), contributing to the advancement of K-EdTech.
