Lee Hyung-se, CEO of Tekville Education,
provides a "collaboration platform for teachers."
Tekville Education aims to become a frontrunner in edtech by continuously expanding its platform, enabling current teachers to share and collaborate on edtech trends while providing integrated education services.
Lee Hyung-se, CEO of tekville Education, emphasized the importance of strengthening teachers' digital competencies at a time when education is undergoing a digital transformation.
Founded in 2001, tekville Education is a specialized education company that operates various initiatives, including professional development programs for elementary, middle, and high school teachers, the edtech platform "chathess," and the public education-focused shopping mall "Teacher Mall." The company's affiliated EdTech Research Institute is expanding its business scope by integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR).
Leveraging its expertise in teacher training and edtech, tekville Education plans to support the enhancement of teachers' digital competencies.
CEO Lee stated, "For edtech to expand into public education, there must be a shared understanding and consensus on the changes in education. Communication with teachers—the key agents of change—and support tailored to their needs are of utmost importance."
In the digital age, the role of teachers must evolve from knowledge transmitters to "learning designers." This requires them to design lessons that encourage student-led participation, utilize courseware functionalities, and collect and analyze individual student characteristics to maximize the effectiveness of AI tutors.
Lee noted, "While the digital innovation of public education brings expectations of improved learning motivation and personalized education, it also presents a significant challenge and burden for teachers who must learn and apply digital tools and platforms. tekville Education is focusing on resolving the difficulties teachers face by providing comprehensive support in various aspects."
tekville Education’s flagship initiative, the TeacherVille Remote Training Institute, offers training in edtech and digital education competencies, including case studies, personalized training, and hands-on practice with digital tools. Additionally, its teacher content platform, "SaemDongNe," facilitates the sharing and dissemination of lesson plans and enables teacher networking.
Last year, tekville Education launched "chathess," a platform designed to implement personalized learning for students. More than 100 domestic and international edtech companies have joined the platform. Furthermore, the company operates the "chathess Bootcamp," a training program for AI courseware specialists.
Lee revealed plans to introduce the "AI Digital Class" next year by integrating "TELAS," a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based AI-powered learning data platform. The goal is to enhance teachers' access to digital lessons and improve students' learning outcomes by seamlessly linking edtech products purchased via chathess with a single login. Through these initiatives, the company aims to expand its educational services for students, integrating services for 750,000 teachers and 5 million students into a comprehensive education business.
"The government is implementing policies and initiatives to foster the edtech ecosystem," Lee said. "In line with these changes, we hope that private edtech companies will leverage their accumulated technology and expertise to expand participation in public education and actively pursue overseas
expansion, ultimately creating a new educational ecosystem."
