Tekville Education operates '2025 Winter Semester Digital Sprout Camp' program
Tekville Education (CEO ‘Hyeong-se Lee’), an edtech company, announced on the 9th that it began operating the ‘2025 Digital Sprout Camp’ on the 1st.
Tekville Education is a public education-based edtech company that operates Teacherville Remote Education Training Institute as its main brand. From 2022 to this year, it was selected as the host institution for the ‘Honam-Jeju Region Digital Sprout Project’ and has produced over 9,000 students to date.
Digital Sprout is a project that provides opportunities to experience SW and AI education programs to reduce the digital education gap and improve digital capabilities for elementary, middle, and high school students across the country. It is operated by the Ministry of Education, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
During the first and second semesters of last year, Tekville Education operated five types of basic programs to cultivate core digital competencies and two types of specialized programs that took into account subject convergence and career connection for 4,659 elementary, middle, and high school students. As a result, the camp ended with excellent results, exceeding the target number of participants by 107%.
In particular, in the second semester, the “Future Career Experience Right for Me” program, which was selected as an excellent program, was expanded and operated nationwide beyond the Honam and Jeju regions. It was conducted at Sunam Elementary School in Gyeongnam, Nabi Elementary School in Gyeongi, and Cheongna Elementary School in Incheon for about 200 students recruited from Seoul, Incheon, Gyeongsang, Gyeonggi, and Honam and Jeju regions.
This winter semester camp will focus on discovering new demand for the Digital Sprout program, focusing on the Honam and Jeju regions, and operate it to benefit a wider range of students. Currently, it is scheduled to be held in the Honam and Jeju regions at Hanam Jungang Elementary School in Gwangju, Yeongam Middle School in Yeongam-gun, and Jangseong Hitech High School in Jangseong-gun.
Park Ki-hyun, CEO of Tekville Education's Edtech division, said, “We develop and operate our own programs so that students can solve problems on their own through project-based learning, going beyond general experiences. We will do our best to nurture digital talent based on the know-how in operating camps accumulated over many years.”
‘Digital Sprout Camp’ consists of a visit-type and group program that can be applied for by schools or individuals, and participation fee is free.
Meanwhile, Tekville Education is in charge of ‘Visiting School Consulting’ hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, which is customized education consulting for schools to resolve the difficulties of digital education. Last December, in-depth interviews were conducted with about 100 schools, and customized training for each school will begin this month according to the schedule and curriculum coordinated with the school.
