Tekville Operates Nationwide Training Program on Student Question-Centered Instruction and Assessment for Elementary Teachers

Tekville announced that it is operating the 2026 Leading Elementary Teacher Training Program for Student Question-Centered Instruction and Assessment, organized by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education.

The program is designed for 1,000 elementary school teachers from all 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide. Its goal is to cultivate leading teachers who can help expand question-centered instruction and constructed-response and essay-based assessment practices in schools, while strengthening students’ ability to ask questions and think critically.

The program is hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education. Tekville is participating as the project operator, supporting the overall delivery of the program, including content development, online training, and nationwide in-person training.

The training runs from July through August as a 36-session blended program, consisting of 18 online sessions and 18 in-person sessions.

A key feature of the program is its practice-oriented structure, which connects question-centered instruction with constructed-response and essay-based assessment in a single learning process. Rather than simply helping teachers understand how to encourage students to ask questions, the program enables them to design actual subject lessons and connect those lessons to assessment and feedback.

The curriculum focuses on areas including strategies for developing students’ questioning skills, question-centered lesson design, development of constructed-response and essay-based assessment items, and hands-on practice integrating instruction and assessment. To strengthen expertise in curriculum and assessment, the Ewha Womans University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation also participated in developing training modules and content.

Ahead of the main program, Tekville held an instructor capacity-building workshop from June 26 to 28 at The-K Hotel Gyeongju for trainers who will lead the nationwide sessions. A total of 63 instructors specializing in curriculum, teaching, and assessment participated, each recommended by one of the country’s 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education.

During the workshop, participants discussed lesson design approaches that use student questions as the starting point for learning and developed constructed-response and essay-based assessment items designed to reflect students’ thinking processes.

The workshop also covered practical areas required for nationwide implementation, including the direction of the training content and operations, session-by-session practice activities, small-group facilitation strategies, and standards for assessment and feedback. Instructors who completed the workshop will serve as the core teaching team for the subsequent training program for 1,000 elementary school teachers nationwide.

Following the online component, the in-person training is being held in five cohorts from July 27 to August 14 at The-K Hotel Gyeongju.

Approximately 200 teachers participate in each cohort over three days and two nights. Participants come from all 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan, Sejong, and Gyeonggi.

Drawing on its experience in nationwide teacher training and educational content development, Tekville provides integrated operational support throughout the program, including participant registration and attendance management, LMS-based learning support, live online training, on-site management of in-person sessions, satisfaction surveys, and performance analysis.
