'Tekville Education Hosts "Digital Tutor Training Center" Performance Report Symposium

Tekville Education (CEO Hyung-se Iee) held the 2025 Digital Tutor Training Center Performance Report Symposium on the 26th at SpaceShare Jungbu Center in Seoul.

The event brought together graduates of this year’s training program, instructors, and related stakeholders to share major achievements, outstanding activity cases, and future development plans for digital education.

The Digital Tutor Training Center program is a specialized talent-development initiative operated since 2024 by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity (KOFAC). Together with seven regional training centers nationwide—including Incheon and northern Gyeonggi—the program fosters digital tutors who will support digital learning environments in schools.

Digital tutors assist teachers in elementary, middle, and high schools by managing digital learning devices (setup, charging, maintenance), supporting software use, and helping reduce digital skill gaps among students during AI-enhanced and technology-integrated classes.

In May, Tekville Education was selected as the operating institution for the 2025 Capital Region Digital Tutor Training Center. Based on the standard curriculum developed by KOFAC, Tekville created additional localized training materials tailored to regional educational needs, including infrastructure maintenance and AI-linked edtech modules.

The training program consisted of a 50-hour standard curriculum (digital literacy, classroom support, etc.) provided by KOFAC and a 20-hour regional specialization curriculum developed by Tekville Education. Participants were required to attend at least 80% of sessions to complete the program.

To ensure accessibility, training was conducted across four learning centers—one in Incheon and three in northern Gyeonggi (Goyang, Uijeongbu, Namyangju). A total of 11 classes were operated, each consisting of approximately 25 learners.

Across the first and second recruitment rounds, approximately 1,300 applicants applied to the Incheon and Northern Gyeonggi Digital Tutor Training Centers. Of these, 275 candidates with strong digital literacy and competency were selected, and 272 successfully completed the entire training program.

Graduates are registered on the Digital Tutor website operated by KOFAC and receive an official certificate of completion.

More than 100 participants attended the performance symposium, which featured:

  • A keynote lecture by Prof. Hyun-Cheol Kim of Korea University (“Understanding Innovation in Digital-Based Education”)

  • A presentation on program outcomes

  • Sharing of outstanding cases

  • An awards ceremony for the training experience writing contest

CEO Hyung-se Iee of Tekville Education stated,

“With the introduction of AI-enhanced digital learning materials, classroom environments are rapidly evolving, and both teachers and students are working to adapt to new methods. Tekville Education is committed to systematically cultivating digital tutors equipped with strong digital-education support capabilities, reducing the burden on teachers, and enhancing students’ learning experiences.”
