Tekville Education Chathess exclusively launches "Maeil Korean T" to address literacy decline with AI.

Tekville Education (CEO Lee Hyung-se) announced on the 30th that its AI and edtech marketplace Chathess has exclusively launched the AI-based Korean learning platform ‘Maeil Korean T’ through a strategic partnership.
According to the 2024 National Academic Achievement Assessment Results released by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, 9.3% of second-year high school students fell below the basic proficiency level in Korean—the highest since sample assessments began in 2017.
Likewise, 10.1% of third-year middle school students were below the basic standard. A survey by the Korean Federation of Teachers’ Associations also revealed that 92% of teachers believe students’ literacy skills have declined compared to the past.
Teachers in the field have expressed concern, saying, “Some students don’t know what the word ‘great person’ means in biographies, and more than half don’t understand common Sino-Korean words like ‘majum-mul’ (priming water) or ‘gyaeruk’ (something of little value).”
In response, Maeil Korean T was developed jointly by Tekville Education and Maeil Korean for use in public education and is being exclusively distributed through Chathess.
Using AI technology, the platform analyzes each learner’s level and learning patterns, providing personalized learning paths that cover all areas of Korean language education—vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing.
Learning data is analyzed in real time, allowing students and parents to track progress objectively. The platform also incorporates storytelling and gamification elements to increase engagement and motivation.
Lee Chang-hoon, Head of Edu-Commerce at Tekville Education, stated, “Through the exclusive launch of Maeil Korean T, Cheddus will actively support teachers in addressing literacy challenges in schools. We aim to help students build their vocabulary and language skills step-by-step through enjoyable, game-based learning.”
A teacher who participated in the Maeil Korean T webinar held on October 29 commented, “The decline in literacy from elementary to middle school is severe. Using Maeil Korean T before and after each unit could help boost students’ motivation and willingness to learn.”
Currently, Maeil Korean T is available exclusively at the lowest price through Chathess and can also be purchased via the S2B School Marketplace. Starting November 1, Chathess will recruit product testers, and selected participants will receive a Maeil Korean T trial pass valid through March 2026. Feedback from the testers will be used to enhance future service updates.
To celebrate the launch, Chathess and Maeil Korean T are also running user engagement campaigns, including a coffee coupon giveaway for free trial applicants and a blog review challenge.
Customers who convert to paid subscriptions after the free trial will receive extended subscription benefits, and Tekville plans to operate a teacher innovator program to train educators in instructional use and professional development with Maeil Korean T.
A representative from Maeil Korean T stated, “We aim to help every student improve their Korean proficiency effectively through AI-driven personalized learning tailored to each individual’s level and pace. We will continue enhancing our content and services to set a new standard in Korean language education.”
