Chathess Launches First EdTech Purchasing Agency Service for Teachers

A new pathway has opened for teachers to more easily purchase the EdTech tools they need.

Tekville Education announced on the 18th that its integrated EdTech marketplace, Chathess, has launched an AI and EdTech purchasing agency service.

With this new service, teachers can conveniently purchase domestic and overseas EdTech products not listed on Chathess, starting from a single account and on a monthly basis.

Currently, teachers can purchase EdTech products through procurement platforms such as S2B (School Marketplace) under the Ministry of Education, the Edtech Mall, and Eduzip. However, these platforms primarily focus on bulk purchasing and administrative procedures, making them less accessible for individual teachers. In the case of Eduzip, the actual purchase must be made through separate channels, adding complexity.

The Korea EdTech Forum Association (KEFA) also noted in a recent report that “system improvements are urgently needed in areas such as foreign currency payment, budget execution, and simplified purchasing procedures.” In response, Chathess has implemented features such as local currency (KRW) payment, automatic issuance of tax invoices, and a fee-free system. Teachers can now complete tasks like drafting official documents and requesting quotations in a streamlined, one-stop process. Furthermore, Chathess differentiates itself by providing growth opportunities and practical know-how through webinars, bootcamps, and its teacher community, “Chathess Teachers Community(ChathessSam).”

By analyzing these existing limitations, Chathess has improved accessibility compared to other platforms, making it easier for individual teachers to make purchases. In particular, teachers can receive account activation within one week of applying for the purchasing service, enabling fast access without complicated administrative steps.

Jihye Jung, Head of the Chathess Division, stated, “Existing procurement systems designed for large-scale contracts have struggled to meet the practical needs of individual teachers. Our focus is to empower teachers to directly choose the tools they need, enabling them to deliver more customized and effective lessons.”
