Teacherville to Host “The Time I Still Want to Be a Teacher” Teacher Lecture Event

Teacherville Remote Teacher Training Institute, operated by EdTech company Tekville Education, will host an offline teacher lecture event called The Time I Still Want to Be a Teacher(hereinafter referred to as "Ogyosi")" on August 2 at Geoam Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

“Ogyosi” is short for “Today, I Still Want to Be a Teacher”—a space for educators to have open and honest conversations about the challenges, reflections, and hopes they experience in their teaching journey.

Four teacher influencers will take the stage to share real-life stories from their careers, including personal conflicts, moments of self-reflection, and the turning points that inspired them to continue moving forward. The event aims to provide comfort, empathy, and renewed motivation to fellow educators.

Planned for the summer vacation period, this special lecture is designed to help teachers prevent burnout, strengthen peer connections, and encourage professional growth.

The speakers include four elementary school teachers—Hyunji Lee, Hyungil Lee, Changyong Kim, and Hyuna Lee—all affiliated with the Korean Teachers Association. These influencers have appeared on various educational programs such as “15 Minutes That Change the World” and “Future Education Plus.”

The lecture topics are as follows:

  • Period 1: Am I a Good Teacher?

  • Period 2: Why Do I Dance in the Classroom?

  • Period 3: Happy Teachers, Sparkling Children

  • Period 4: The Sprout That Bloomed Inside a Rotten Pumpkin

Each session will be 20 minutes long, for a total of 80 minutes. The lecture will also be produced as an online training course later this year, allowing teachers who can’t attend in person to access it virtually.

Seonok Lim, Director of the Teacher Training Division at Teacherville, shared,

“Ogyosi is more than just a lecture series—it’s a time for teachers to find comfort and reignite their passion by sharing stories with one another. It’s a rare opportunity to meet some of Korea’s most influential teacher voices in one place, and we hope many will join us.”

Meanwhile, Teacherville is currently running a special “Ogyosi Event”. Teachers who leave comments with questions or thoughts they'd like to share at the lecture may be selected to receive answers during the live event, along with a coffee coupon. The event is open for participation through July 27 on the Teacherville website.
